IT SOLUTION ARCHITECT -REVENUE OPTIMISATION

RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and maintain development standards and prescriptions

Develop long term IT technical roadmap and continual revenue/cost optimization

Lead and manage implementation of complex IT engineering solutions across the enterprise

Effectively liaison between Managers, Solution/Architecture Engineering, Development and Operations teams to implement large and complex engineering solutions

Work closely with Business & Technology Leaders to define and implement critical business functions, needs and products

Evaluate and optimize estimates from development teams to ensure quality and accuracy

Ensure alignment between technology investment (RA) and business strategy roadmaps

Ensure deliverables across engineering teams are high quality and clearly documented

Challenge the status quo through intellectual curiosity and natural inquisitiveness to look beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities

Manage and appropriately escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the engineering initiatives to the stake holders

Lead and provide technical leadership to leads and developers in geographically dispersed location

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large engineering initiatives and team

Strong technical knowledge of digital environment including Mobile, Web, Apps, APIs, Messaging, Databases, Big Data, Networks and their Interactions

Required knowledge and understanding of technical architecture, application systems design and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment with hands on experience in SOA, REST, Business Intelligence,Java/J2EE, XML, Weblogic/Apache TomCat Application Server, Rules Engine, Oracle or DB2 programming methodologies

Experience in working with OpenSource code and frameworks

Knowledge of industry standard project execution methodologies like Agile/SCRUM, Waterfall, RUP

Has demonstrated experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools and practices

Has demonstrated innovative ideas to reduce overall cost of deliverables with improved quality and time to market

Has demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies, quickly and effectively

Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills

Proven experience influencing business and technology leadership

Demonstrated professional written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.

Partners with business analysts, systems analysts and engineers in requirements gathering and reviews.

Responsible for analysing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives.

Solution Design

Blue Printing skills.
Works with enterprise architecture, application and infrastructure teams to produce an optimal, high level, conceptual design for the project.
Develops enterprise level solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms.
Proposes changes in process, policy and standards as they relate to the architecture and design principles.
Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and solutions to solve business problems.
Architect and design solutions to business requirements in accordance to enterprise application and technology roadmaps, principles, standards and guidelines.
Provide expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
Technical coordination across projects and teams within the portfolio and across verticals
Participate and contribute to the solution architecture community established across all verticals and horizontals.

Technical skills:

Knowledge of different development methodologies (Agile, Lean Product Development, Waterfall)
Knowledge/understanding of application design techniques, methodologies, and languages

Excellent knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Able to communicate on all layers in the organization - and being able to translate between technical language and business language

The suitable candidate will need significant leadership skills in order to work at a senior level within the organisation and be able to influence delivery and support from other partners within and outside of the firm whilst building up the in house organisation to drive these changes from the technical perspective. The role includes:
Full accountability for infrastructure design & architecture, for technical integrity and scalability of provided solution
Full accountability for development and delivery of IT infrastructure, Solution Architecture

Stakeholder management to ensure that all parties, from centre organisation engineers, are understanding direction and supporting the changes
Design and choose the right communication linkage on- and offshore communication
Overseeing mobility solutions
Develop necessary in-house competencies
Proactively seeks understanding of emerging Technologies, driving the usage of new sensory and other technology

Experience
Typically has 4 to 7 years of experience in multiple IT areas and 2 to 3 years of relevant IT architecture and/or project management experience.
Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of Solution architecture, application design, systems engineering and integration.
Experience mentoring and leading teams of architects and developers in implementing distributed architectures and solving significant technical challenges
Experience with IT Governance and Lifecycle Processes
Proven experience in designing IT projects
Experience of optimization models and their use in Revenue Management or Revenue Optimisation or Yield Management systems.
