MUST HAVE SKILLS:

Candidates must have good breadth of background in infrastructure, more from an enterprise level machine. Candidates must be skillful in approaching someone to get information they require assertive type of personality.

NICE TO HAVE:

Personable, good attitude type of person. Any infrastructure design background is a huge plus.

POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Service Design Engineer will join a global team of engineers dedicated to enabling global services through the efficient and effective design, build, and maintenance of IT service/application Service Design Packages. This function is key to the success of the strategic goal related to self and rapid provisioning of IT infrastructure. The design of these packages will provide not only the ability to rapidly deploy, but also the necessary and required IT infrastructure source of record that will enhance the operational support of client services. This position is only part of the larger Service Engineering team comprised of multiple groups with different but very dependent functions. Together the teams are responsible for a holistic solution that, when properly orchestrated, is designed to meet the needs of the business in a manner that is useful, timely, and within fiscal compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and design IT solutions that are in alignment with the technical requirements and standard IT offerings
- Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the business unit in the context of the enterprise.
- Creates high-level models (rigorous information-rich diagrams) that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.
- Drive and influence use of IT standards throughout the organization
- Collaborate with IT Portfolio Managers, Application Development, Engineering, and Operations groups to identify process efficiency opportunities. Subsequently, develop and design automation processes to obtain such efficiencies
- Cultivate, support, and promote an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity, and teamwork.
- Work with business representatives, IT Management, IT development, support teams and vendors to ensure on time, on budget, and quality delivery of technical solutions that support the strategic direction of the business and IT
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility with all Company assets
- Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and timelines
- Performs work with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment and discretion
- Capture the tactical and strategic business goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
- Stand out as a role model for others through daily interaction and leadership example and as a resource for other team members.
- Promotes and champions individual growth within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other related technical/IT field (or a minimum 7 years of IT experience)
- Expertise in the process of dissecting a currently defined or new service and subsequently documenting all relevant infrastructure components
- Extensive experience in designing IT solutions
- Expertise in Mainframe, Open Systems (Windowsbuilds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer
- Strong analytical skills: strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
- Ability to thrive and exceed in a fast-paced and performance driven globally dispersed team
- Data Modeling experience producing conceptual, logical, and physical designs meeting client needs
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload in order to meet necessary deadlines
- Ability to make independent judgments/decisions within established guidelines
- Experience in planning, analysing, and developing on new systems and modifications
- Ability, desire and motivation to learn quickly and pick up new skills
- ITIL and project management certification a plus
- Basic understanding of budgetary concepts and procedures
- Familiarity with agile framework methodologies, like Scrum, for completing complex projects
