IT Security Specialist Job

IT SECURITY SPECIALIST for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Fishers, IN.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- Provide technical platform support and maintain consistent configuration, implementation and operational support for global security operations services. Provide 1st level Global Security Incident handling, incident response and escalation management. Firewall and Proxy experience. Preferably Checkpoint Firewalls and/or Palo Alto Firewalls. Also Bluecoat Proxy Servers and Cisco ACS Servers. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Maintains platform operations, monitors and resolves problems Configures and manages development UAT and production environments Administers and maintains support services
- Provides 1st level technical support for Network security problems
- Ensures proper platform configuration, implementation and optimization
- Ensures capacity and performance tuning
- Coordinates and performs upgrades to network security tools
- Maintains service level and QA compliance
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other basic transport protocols Basic IT Security knowledge including the following areas:
- Access Control Systems and Methodology
- Telecommunications and Network Security
- Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning Security Management Practices Security Architecture and Models IT Investigation and Ethics Application and System Development Security Cryptography Computer Operations Security Physical Security

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Firewall support - Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto preferred".
- Education in computer science, engineering or related discipline; or recognition of prior working experience which is equivalent including:
- Two (2) plus years of hands on IT technical experience with a proven track record
- Two (2) plus years with Security certifications and training
- Proxy Server support - Bluecoat is highly preferred
- Two (2) plus years of hands on IT technical experience with a proven track record
- Two (2) plus years with Security certifications and training and experience
- Two (2) plus years a major, global organization
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other basic transport protocols Basic IT Security knowledge Strong hands-on technical skills, operational background and working experience with infrastructure technologies and business applications
- Strong understanding of Computer Systems Validation and working experience within Validated environment ITIL Service Management certification (Foundation required)
- Experience in providing solutions aligned with standards, security, validation, capacity, high availability and identifying associated risks Demonstrated willingness to cross-train and learn additional technical expertise
- Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative and commitment to operation excellence skills
- Adaptable to change in a large organization Openly demonstrates a thorough understanding and support of Values, Leadership competencies and PG competencies and actively practices them Completes tasks and assignments with a strong customer focus and a highly responsive service delivery and support ethic
- Takes a proactive, collaborative and supportive approach when interacting with colleagues Technical and Operation knowledge of Computer Operating Systems including Window and UNIX/LINUS Basic understanding of network security related technologies including Virus protection, Intrusion Detection, vulnerability scanning, etc.
- In-depth knowledge for Internet protocols Systems administration skills Ability to work closely with a team under pressure to resolve issues
- Ability to communicate threats and risks in both technical and non-technical formats On-call/pager rotation duty Non-standard shift work
- Ability to work remotely may be needed Organization must provide 24x7 support including holidays with emphasis on core business hour support in EMEA and NALA
