ABOUT US

The Scientific Computing Department (SCD) provides world class leading edge computer and data storage infrastructure to support the work of world class science both within STFC, the UK, and internationally. An information security expert is required to provide support and guidance to the Hartree Centre (based at Daresbury in Cheshire) as well as the wider UK GridPP project (based at Rutherford Lab in Oxfordshire).

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an IT Security Officer you will be joining a group of similar professionals working as an informal team on a variety of projects. You will provide expert support and advice to the GriddPP Operations Team in all aspects of IT security as well as taking a leading role in the EGI Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). You will also define and develop security policies for the Hartree Centre in line with ISO 27000 series specifications.

ABOUT YOU

To join us you will need to be self motivated with the ability to work independently. A degree in computer science, a scientific discipline or relevant experience is essential.
