IT SECURITY COORDINATOR

ROLE

To work within the IT Web Support & Development team and in liaison with the Central IT Services team specifically the Infrastructure Coordinator for Network Security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DUTIES

- To identify vulnerabilities and threats to the information resources used within the business areas.
- Test for LDAP injection, SQL Injection, XSS injection and Javascript injection using appropriate provided tools and technologies
- Rectify any issues identified to ensure the application/website is secured and the end user can continue to use the service.
- Where appropriate apply a recommended fix for the identified security issue
- Make recommendations for re-coding to prevent issues reoccurring
- Design an on-going security testing schedule
- All work to be documented

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Qualified to degree level or with relevant experience.
- Experience with MySQL 5 and a good understanding of SQL queries in general.
- Understanding of LAMP systems and basic use of GNU/Linux Servers.
- Familiarity with security and scalability considerations for web systems.
- Knowledge of the Open Web Application Security Project
- Knowledge of usability and accessibility.
