IT Security Analyst - Banking, Brussels

BACKGROUND:

My client is a Brussels based international bank looking for an IT Security Analyst to monitor and verify events that are reported by the bank's Security Intelligence Platform and respond to them in a timely and appropriate manner.

TASKS:

Evaluating threats, vulnerabilities and risks while performing and supporting Real Time security monitoring operations;
Conduct first line analysis and investigations using security events, alerts and information as needed;
Develop and maintain key documentation and reports in alignment with company standards;
Communicate and escalate to different levels of internal customers;
Serve as a subject matter expert in security monitoring technologies and processes;
Provide (technical) guidance/recommendations to enhance the overall security posture;
Continuously maintain and expand working knowledge of current managed technologies as well as current knowledge on industry issues/trends and competitive products;
Lead in sharing of best practices with team members to contribute to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support;

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Familiarity with Qradar, and experience with audit and log analysis;
Hands on experience in an Information Security role;
Experience in a Bank or Financial Services environment;
Bachelor's degree in Information Security or comparable work experience in a technical environment;
Familiarity with typical corporate security controls (eg. NIDS/NIPS, HIDS/HIPS, WAF, Network Firewalls, VPN, AV, FDE, SIEM, DLP, etc.);
Background in IT engineering/support (networking, system/application management; etc);
Knowledge of security standards such as PCI-DSS; Cobit; ISO27001;
Security analyst certification such as GCIA; AESA.
