IT PROJECT MANAGER FOSTER CITY, CA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

MUST HAVE SKILLS: Experience managing PPM (Project and Portfolio Management) system projects. Must have PMP certification. Experience in managing and executing applications including OBIEE, Tableau, OFA, ESSBASE, Cognos, TM1 and other Business intelligence projects with complex and disparate source systems

NICE TO HAVE: Experience delivering Business intelligence projects with a large scale global financial system such as Oracle Financial E-business Suite, FP & A (Revenue Planning and Hyperion) preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This candidate will join the Corporate IT Project Management Office (PMO) and will be responsible for successful project delivery while working with teams comprised of all ranges of technical and business personnel. A successful candidate MUST be PMP certified and have significant Technical Project Management experience and superb business-facing communication skills. The ability to manage outsourced development vendors and work effectively with multiple IT, QA, Security, Infrastructure and business partners is key. Payment industry is a definite plus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience leading technical teams in the delivery of software development, operational and integration efforts
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing PPM (Project and Portfolio Management) system projects
- Significant experience in managing and executing applications including OBIEE, Tableau, OFA, ESSBASE, Cognos, TM1 and other Business intelligence projects with complex and disparate source systems
- Experience delivering Business intelligence projects with a large scale global financial system such as Oracle Financial E-business Suite, FPadvanced degree preferred with concentration in Finance, Computer Science or related discipline
- Must be PMP certified (no exceptions)
- Must possess a CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or other active Agile certification
- Demonstrable experience in Jira, Rally or other industry-recognized Agile management system
- Demonstrable experience in managing several concurrent medium-scale high profile projects with extensive executive stakeholder participation
- Experience in facilitating multi-tiered project governance processes
- Expertise in MS Project 2010 schedule management including understanding the role of robust WBSs
- Strong understanding of mature business requirements traceability processes
- Direct a mix of internal and outsourced/vendor, geographically diverse resources for project delivery
- Ability to establish and sustain effective, professional relationships with IT and business managers
- Strategic thinking and the proven ability to engage and influence senior and executive management

- Demonstrate leadership qualities including flexibility and adaptability to changes in roles and responsibility as required

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Partnering with Business and IT Development, manage cross-divisional projects, in remote locations, including:
- Define scope, create accurate and inclusive estimates, develop budgets and project plans, and produce high quality project charters and other planning documentation needed for funding approvals.
- Direct project activities, conduct reviews, manage risk mitigation, issues, change control processes, and communicate status to senior executives within the development and business partner organizations.
- Manage and track project budgets, forecasts and schedule to achieve target scope, schedule and cost.
- Ensure that all Corporate Information Technology projects are in compliance with internal Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on project progress and financial status.
- Provide project teams with expertise, direction, motivation, and encouragement. Direct project team composed of: local and remote teams/resources and external vendors, Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes in roles and responsibilities.
- Achieve project goals by collaborating with stakeholders at all management levels across the organization, including architects and strategists, technical IT subject matter experts, business partners, vendors, and Visa senior management. Demonstrate skills in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders.
- Manage through influence, but without direct management authority. Use capabilities to influence customers and stakeholders, and properly manage divergent expectations.
- Embrace teamwork while promoting a culture of openness and flexibility.
