SENIOR IT PROJECT MANAGER FOSTER CITY, CA 1 YEAR CONTRACT

This candidate will join the Corporate IT Project Management Office (PMO) and will be responsible for successful project delivery while working with matrixed teams comprised of all ranges of technical and business personnel. A successful candidate MUST have active PMP and SCRUM/Agile certifications, have significant IT Project Management experience and superb business-facing communication skills. The ability to manage outsourced development vendors and work effectively with multiple business partners is key. Payment industry and/or experience in a large corporate environment are a definite plus.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

- Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
- Directs a mix of internal and outsourced/vendor, geographically diverse resources for project delivery
- Establishes and sustains effective, professional relationships with IT and business managers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have active PMP certification
- 10+ years of project management experience leading technical teams in the delivery of software development, operational and integration efforts
- 3+ years experience leading Agile projects; experience with managing projects in an organization going through an agile transition a plus
- Expertise in MS Project 2010 schedule management including understanding the role of robust WBSs
- Proficiency in the use of JIRA as an Agile Project Management tool
- Familiarity with wireframe/mock up tools (eg Balsamiq) a plus
- Experience with Marketing Technology Systems preferred
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft tools (SharePoint 2010+, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Demonstrable experience in managing several concurrent medium-scale, high profile projects with extensive executive stakeholder participation
- Strong understanding of mature business requirements traceability processes.
- Strategic thinking and the proven ability to engage and influence senior and executive management
- Undergraduate degree in technical or business discipline required (equivalent work experience will be considered); advanced degree preferred
- Must sit in Foster City

SKILLS:

- Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices
- Experience managing projects using Agile and/or a hybrid of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while coordinating activities with cross-divisional teams
- Team player able to communicate with technical and business experts at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage project financials including labor and non-labor forecasts
- Independent judgment and mature decision making skills to deal with projects that often have enterprise-wide scope and may have significant financial and compliance implications and impact
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills; ability to think strategically
- Well-honed influencing skills, ie ability to negotiate and gain consensus between organizations where competing priorities exist
- Reputation for being a collaborative partner and business leader, skilled at leveraging formal and informal relationships
- Demonstrated ability to foster a trusting project environment
- Maintain high level of effective communication through status updates at various levels and thorough attention given to all project artifacts (eg meeting minutes, status reports)
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including flexibility and adaptability to changes in roles and responsibility as required
- Ability to solicit project requirements and complete documentation as necessary
