Our client is one of the world's leading financial services seeking an IT PROJECT MANAGER with current PMP certification and 8+ years' experience, including large scale projects of 1M or more working with multiple business partners with diverse interests. Applicants must have strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Clarity and Microsoft Project. We're looking for candidates with strong initiative, a strong sense of ownership and great presentation skills.

This position focuses on providing Project Management and Program Management activities required to effectively operate the Project Management Office within the Corporate Information Technology group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide project management expertise to multiple concurrent cross-divisional project efforts.
- Facilitate program and project managers and their business and technology subject matter experts in defining scope, create estimates, develop budgets and project plans, track interdependencies, and review Statements of Work and other documentation needed for funding approvals.
- Maintain CIT project/program level project reporting, metrics, and watch lists.
- Maintain reporting of CIT roll up project and resource budgets, and resource plans.
- Draft management project briefings and coordinate periodic reviews
- Maintain CIT PMO level document repositories
- Maintain organizational process documentation and seek opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with oversight of program performance and ensuring compliance with IT methods. Ensure that all Corporate Systems projects are in compliance with the client's Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on project portfolio progress and financial status.
- Facilitate and track program activities, reviews, and summaries of project finances and schedules, risk identification and mitigation, and change control processes, and communicate status to senior executives within CIT PMO, development and business partner organizations.
- Demonstrate and leverage strong business and financial acumen.
- Manage through influence, but without direct management authority. Use capabilities to influence customers and stakeholders, and properly manage divergent expectations.
- Partner and collaborate with cross-organizational functions to deliver on objectives, achieve program goals, and properly manage divergent expectations by engaging effectively with stakeholders at all management levels, including architects and strategists, technical IT subject matter experts, business partners, vendors, and senior management

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Eight years proven experience managing and executing large scale software development, operational and integration efforts
- PMP certification is required
- Solid understanding of portfolio, program, and project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience required; concentration in Project Management or related Information Technology discipline preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally as needed to support CIT's strategic goals
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools; Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required
- Should be proficient in using Clarity and SharePoint collaboration sites
- Solid analytical skills and ability to think strategically
- Financial services and card payments experience a plus
- Experience in customer support and HR systems a plus
- Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
- Independent judgment and mature decision making skills to deal with projects that often have enterprise-wide scope and may have significant financial and compliance impacts
- Ability to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate activities with other teams when needed
- Solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to negotiate and gain consensus between organizations where competing priorities exist
- Must sit in Foster City, CA

Duration of assignment: 12 months with possible extension.
