IT Project Manager

IT PROJECT MANAGER - SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND

Job Summary - This 1 year contract opportunity is for an IT Project Manager role for a major health care provider. The individual in this role will support all facets of project administrative activities to ensure project success.

This will include the following: establishing and maintaining project performance metrics; coordinating the document management process; documenting status and other administrative meetings; maintaining the project SharePoint site; maintaining the Project Work Plan for MS Project and Clarity; maintain the project budget (including data entry as needed); coordinate and track project communications; and facilitate critical processes related to project management and the software development life cycle (SDLC). Also demonstrate necessary understanding of Project Management practices and a good understanding of general business processes. Will work under the direction of an IT Program Manager and may also serve as the Project Manager for smaller IT sub-projects. 

Minimum number of years of experience required - 5 year experience in project/program management 

Top 3-5 Daily responsibilities - manage end to end project delivery including project plan development and execution, management of system development life cycle (requirements, design, development, testing and deployment), management of business policies and procedures and future state workflows, financial management, project metrics and status reporting, dependency management 

Top 3 - 5 Required Skills - experience with project management life cycle and system development life cycle, healthcare background, particularly in Medicare line of business 

Desired skills - Medicare background, particularly in Medicare Advantage, experience in health plan project delivery for sales, membership, billing, claims 

Soft Skills- excellent verbal skills, facilitation skills, negotiation skills 

Educational Requirement: BA/BS or equivalent work experience
