IT PROJECT MANAGER FOSTER CITY, CA 1 YEAR CONTRACT

This candidate will join the Corporate IT Project Management Office (PMO) for Finance and Human Resource Program Solutions. The Program includes technical project management for business activities including applications such as Oracle E-business Suite, Hyperion Expense and Revenue Planning, Treasury, Tax and Human Capital Management. The Project Manager will be responsible for successful project delivery while working with matrixed teams comprised of Systems Analyst, Vendor, Development, Quality Assurance Testing, Operations and Business personnel.

PARTNERING WITH BUSINESS AND IT DEVELOPMENT, THE IT PROJECT MANAGER WILL MANAGE CROSS-DIVISIONAL PROJECTS, IN REMOTE LOCATIONS, INCLUDING:

- Working with business and technology subject matter experts to define scope, create accurate and inclusive estimates, develop budgets and project plans, and produce high quality project charters and other planning documentation needed for funding approvals.
- Directing project activities, conducting reviews, managing risk mitigation, issues, change control processes, and communicating status to senior executives within the development and business partner organizations.
- Management and tracking project budgets, forecasts and schedule to achieve target scope, schedule and cost.
- Ensuring that all Corporate IT projects are in compliance with internal Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on project progress and financial status.
- Providing project teams with expertise, direction, motivation, and encouragement. Direct project team composed of local and remote teams/resources and external vendors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changes in roles and responsibilities.
- Achieving project goals by collaborating with stakeholders at all management levels across the org, including architects and strategists, technical IT subject matter experts, business partners, vendors, and senior management. Demonstrating skills in conflict management and negotiation to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders.
- Management through influence, but without direct management authority. Use capabilities to influence customers and stakeholders, and properly manage divergent expectations.
- Embracing teamwork while promoting a culture of openness and flexibility.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS or equivalent work experience required; concentration in Finance, Computer Science or a related technical discipline and/or an MS/MBA a plus
- 10+ years experience managing IT Projects required
- Current PMP certification REQUIRED
- Knowledge of Waterfall Project Lifecycle methodology
- Experience in managing and executing large scale global financial system implementations for Oracle Financial E-business Suite (ie, P2P, iProc, iExpense, etc.), Hyperion, Treasury, Tax and Human Resource (ie, WorkDay, SuccessFactors, Learning Management Systems, etc.) applications
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels
- Ability to understand Business needs related to Finance, Procure-to-Pay, Treasury, Tax and Human Resource system solutions
- Experience working with and managing the activities of third party vendors
- Working knowledge of the software development life cycle from requirements gathering to post-implementation production support, including quality assurance and system integration
- Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently while coordinating activities with cross-divisional teams in remote locations
- Team player able to communicate with technical and business experts at all levels of the organization
- Solid analytical skills; ability to think strategically
- Nice to have skills: Workday and SharePoint knowledge/experience a plus, Clarity a plus
