IT Project Manager

DESCRIPTION
Oversee the testing and quality assurance on two large projects involving the billing system. The scope includes management of testing activities involving
(a) patching billing system existing core code with 450+ patches and
(b) the introduction of new tariff schedules associated with customers opting out of the company's automated meter program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Person will be responsible for developing test plan, modifying existing test strategies as required
2) Person will be responsible for leading and overseeing the overall testing and quality assurance efforts, including managing the day-to-day activities of one or more test team members. This also includes ensuring SOX requirements are tested and validated.
3) Working with Company internal business clients, understanding the existing test scripts, evaluating new requirements and updating new scripts, and coordinating the execution of test scripts. This role requires strong communication and leadership qualities, in addition to testing skills.
4) Ensure testing team is following testing standards, guidelines and testing methodology
5) Ensure performance testing is scheduled and conducted as per required project timeline
6) Working with internal IT and external IT teams to coordinate testing efforts and receive sign offs
7) Track metrics of tests executed vs. plan, reporting on testing status, developing and implementing action plans to meet schedule deliverables and providing daily updates to project leadership
8) Manage resolution of escalated defects and issues discovered during testing phases in a timely manner
9) Reporting testing metrics to key stakeholders and program manager

SKILLS:

EXPERIENCE
1) 3+ years leading medium to large project testing efforts
2) Experience writing test plans, test cases and metrics reports for progress vs. plan
3) Experience with HP's suite of testing tools like QTP, Quality Center is required
4) Preferred utility experience in testing process
5) Experience with Oracle's Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) application is desired
