IT Project Manager

Projektbeschreibung

This TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME position, of approximately 18 to 24 months, calls for a certified Project Management Professional (or equivalent) with knowledge of the full IT project management cycle to ensure project delivery on time and on budget.

As PROJECT MANAGER (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES), you will plan, initiate, execute, monitor and lead Information Technology Services (ITS) projects and initiatives. Leading and directing multidisciplinary, cross-departmental project teams, you will plan, schedule and prioritize their work to ensure that milestones are met and projects are delivered according to plan, schedule, and budget. As an ITS Project Manager, you will review client requirements and work collaboratively with Business Analysts and project teams to recommend business processes consistent with ITS' strategic direction, Regional policies and procedures, and industry business practices. This position involves lifting, moving and/or carrying items weighing up to 35 lb, to set up training spaces or presentations about once or twice per week.

The responsibilities of the Project Manager (Information Technology Services) will include:

- Managing and developing project budgets, including payment, tracking, reporting, and approval processes.
- Submitting budget papers and receiving approval for project-related expenditures.
- Coordinating cross-departmental project-related activities.
- Determining staffing requirements for each project phase, and arranging for recruitment or assignment of project staff.
- Organizing and directing project team activities, assigning duties and responsibilities.
- Organizing the selection of contractors, vendors and consultants with client departments and other ITS staff, including developing terms of reference, evaluating submissions, short listing candidates, and awarding contracts.
- Managing problems impacting project schedules, costs, or functional success of project team, and ensuring that recommendations and resolutions are implemented accordingly.
- Coordinating application rollout with ITS, client department, and Regional staff.
- Arranging end-user training for new technology applications and business processes.
- Developing performance standards for automated business solutions and tests to ensure that standards are met. 

To assume the role of Project Manager (Information Technology Services), you will have the following profile:

- Thorough practical knowledge of project management techniques, team building, system analysis, system design, data modelling, business process re-engineering, performance management, and information technology applications, normally acquired through a      university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field, plus certification as a Project Management Professional or equivalent, plus progressively responsible related experience.
- Analytical, problem-solving, planning and time management skills to deliver and implement project work plans, identify, assess and mitigate risks, manage multiple projects      simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Leadership, communication, and human relations skills to direct and lead technical and non-technical committees, negotiate with contractors, communicate effectively with project teams, work in a unionized environment, and develop effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a project team.
- Computer skills using software such as Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word, Eclipse, Oracle Financials, and other project-related software.
- Ability to develop and write project charters, work plans, proposals, terms of reference and contracts, and develop implementation, post-implementation and follow-up reports for      stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare and conduct presentations, provide feedback and recommendations to project team members and stakeholders, and communicate complex technical information to staff with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Ability to travel to various locations within and outside of the Region.
