£35,938 to £44,166 per annum

Background
Computing Services is responsible for the provision of a reliable and secure computing infrastructure and all user-based IT for the staff and students of the University. This includes the cabling and computer networks, two data centres, Servers, storage, PCs, Macs, printers, teaching room AV, telephony (fixed and mobile), desktop and teaching software.

Role
This temporary and focused project management role will deliver 3 specific major user impacting projects within Computing Services:

- Office 365/E-mail migration
- MFD/Print replacement
- Telecoms enhancements

The scope of the role will to be to ensure that the projects deliver the expected outputs, on time and in budget and will include monitoring milestones, progress and deliverables and specifically ensuring that actions being taken are as expected. The 3 projects are at different stages and will require different approaches. In addition you will help define project management processes and documentation templates for the future, as well as help develop existing staff.

Experience
You will be educated to first degree level or equivalent and have prior and significant experience of project management, with a track record of successful delivery. You will need relevant experience in a fast paced industry where IT operates as a strategic partner. Project management experience as part of a management role on a large scale or complex Technology projects and experience of delivering Technology projects is essential. In addition you will be able to demonstrate awareness of current IT technologies applicable within the HE Sector.

You will possess a very high standard of verbal and written communication skills and be confident communicating with stakeholders and working to tight timescales.

A Project Management qualification (eg Prince II) and experience of working in an HE environment would be desirable.

The post is fixed term until 31 July 2013.
