IT Ops Engineer - Devops/E-Commerce

For one of our biggest clients, a globally known and respected E-commerce platform, based in Amsterdam, I'm looking for an IT Ops Engineer. You will be part of the Site Operations team, responsible for management and operations for numerous platforms.

THE IDEAL APPLICANT

- Has excellent Linux Admin and DBA Skills (Debian/Ubuntu/MySQL)
- Is experienced with monitoring systems such as Nagios/Graphite/Grafana
- Has experience with installing, configuring and performance tuning applications written in Java, Go or Scala
- Knows their way around Configuration Management tools like Puppet/Chef/Ansible
- Has knowledge of Python and Git
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals like subnetting
- Experience with Docker, Vagrant, Elasticsearch, Kibana or Hadoop are nice to have
- Is fluent in both English and Dutch

THE JOB

- Scaling and Building sites with at least 99,95% uptime
- Identifying Single Points of Failure in the platform and addressing them
- Building of automation processes and tools using Python and other Scripting languages
- Working with the Dev teams to guide architecture decisions
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for production environments, including on-call
- Supporting delivery of changes and deployments of production, QA & Dev environments
- Building, Upgrading, Securing and maintaining our Linux Web Servers, Application Servers and DB's
- Assessing system utilisation to assist in troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity management.
