IT Operations Specialist

THE ROLE:

*Generic Principal
-Responsible for assigned aspects of Service life cycle.
-Ensures effective and efficient use of assigned resources.
-Applies situational leadership (directing, coaching, supporting or delegating) as required.
-Provides technical and managerial advice to his/her superiors and recommends solutions.
-Stays abreast of development in Service Management methodologies/tools and technology developments relevant to the area of work.

*Specific Principal
-Responsible for and supervises the installation, operation and maintenance of assigned Functional Systems software, Databases and other Applications and stays abreast of latest developments in these areas.
-Responsible and supervises for applications and data integrity, advises on IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
-Ensures support to development of operations and exercises plans, ensures and enables support to related local CIS Service provision during execution phase of these plans.
-Ensures documentation of design and configuration of assigned ICT assets and the required operating procedures.
-Plans and enables implementation of processes and operational procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and diagnosis of the performance of ICT systems and services in support of agreed service levels and provides status and reports as required.
-Ensures support to projects.
-Ensures and maintains liaison with other CSU internal units, Service Lines and other technical organisations.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

*Experience with NATO Functional Systems required (eg CoreGIS, MCCIS, NCOP, LC2IS, ICC, NIRIS, ETC. )
*Administrator knowledge and skills for MS Server 2008 & 2012 required
*In depth Active Directory knowledge required
*MS SQL 2008/20012 knowledge required
*SharePoint 2007/20010/20013 administrator skills desired
*UNIX (Oracle Solaris) knowledge desire
