IT Networks Security Support/Engineer (Cisco)

Your duty will be to support and control of the Networking, Telephony/Security platforms including :

1. Support the scheduling and maintenance/installation work associated with the Networking/Telephony and Security platform application delivery systems. Aid with maintaining relevant security, information compliance and operational procedures. Take lead on small projects/upgrades under relevant supervision. 2. Diagnose and resolve problems, ensuring that agreed levels of service and the needs for quality, security, availability utilising appropriate specialised techniques, tools, methods or standards. Ensure that all aspects of the Networking, Telephony and Security platform maintain relevant compliance. 3. Liaise with suppliers/partners to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery of platform services. Manage enquiries by users, specialists and others, prioritising as necessary, and dealing with problems, escalating those which need specialist or management attention. Participate in performing Security and Breech management Investigations with HR. 4. Maintain relationships with third party services providers including BT Global Services as our strategic WAN partner. Work with system architects, designers and contractors to plan /implement major configuration changes/upgrades. Investigations on system performance. Proposals for improvement. Provide advice/assistance to specialists. Technical competency CCNA, JNCIP or other relevant knowledge in network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and VPN appliances. Knowledge of routed networks and including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP. Knowledge of telephony and other voice solutions i.e local LAN, WAN and Cloud. Knowledge of relevant networking facets such as OSPF, RIP, BGP and other routing related protocols. Working knowledge of communication links/ suppliers include MPL S and virtual networks. Knowledge of Directories like Novell e-Directory or Microsoft’s Active Directory Understanding of IT security.
