IT Lab/Test Engineer

We re looking for an energetic and process driven candidate to manage a tech lab for our high-visibility client.

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Maintains a set of machines in a laboratory setting.
- Installs and configures hardware.
- Monitors lab equipment and investigates issues.
- Sets up and executes tests, also reports results.
- Develops scripts and small tools for automating lab operations and test execution.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software problems as required.
- Provides status reports on test scenarios, lab machines, and configurations.
- Moving and lifting of hardware may be required.
- Writes test plans for a small project or a medium to large feature set and automates test cases using Scripting-like languages.
- Develops utilities for lab automation, maintenance, and monitoring.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- General knowledge of personal computers, applications software, and/or operating systems required
- Experience setting up computer hardware, installing/upgrading software and operating systems
- Experience with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience in setting up and administering NT domains recommended
- Testing experience and batch file or other Scripting knowledge
- Ability to code basic production test scripts
- Intermediate level knowledge of one or more Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#, or Windows batch files) may be preferred
- Knowledge of software testing standards, methods and conventions, and the product development cycle
- Must have demonstrated success in coordinating the test effort for one or more software projects, as well as testing software products and contributing to their quality standards
- Must have a basic understanding of software product quality
- Experience with shipping a product/product cycle strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree, technical training certification, Associate's degree or equivalent work experience/training desirable
