The candidate in this position will support to provide system hardware/software upgrades, system repair, HW/SW upkeep, system assembly, and system image creation for non-standard desktop and laptop hardware located in the group and within the labs running any OS. OS includes Windows and Linux/Unix. Support will be provided as dedicated models with 40 hours a week during standard business hours.

Responsibilities will include maintaining Servers and ensuring connectivity, setting up multiple clients that connect to one server in temporary lab projects, and any custom OS or software support needed in the lab environment with the ability to understand LNSP under EC written guidelines and process.

RESPONSIBILITIES ALSO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

- Assemble, build, and configure test machines for project testing and demos
- Assemble, build and configure Servers for project testing and keeping license Servers running.
- Maintain lab hardware (desktops, notebooks, Servers, test rigs, test equipment, and peripherals)
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to maintain productivity
- Locate, test, and configure hardware for demo/test
- Perform ongoing hardware reengineering to accomplish testing
- Escalate any problems with development tools)
- Provide local networking support for lab equipment (T/S network up to switch including networking cable, patch panels, etc.)
- Assist with installation, configuration, and registration of wireless test devices
- Update and create DNS addresses by submitting the proper service desk tickets when landing new systems
- Assure IT compliance for all non-IT network connected hardware
- Primary contact for hardware/software questions

REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

- 5+ years server and desktop support experience required supporting both hardware and software in a mixed environment
- 2-3 years of Data Center/Lab experience preferred
- Experience with Virtualization (eg ESXi Servers, VMWARE)
- Experience providing remote support of Unix Servers
- Basic or intermediate Scripting knowledge in support of existing scripts Shell Scripts for routine Unix/Linux work
- OS builds for lab systems (Linux and Windows)
- Experience in land/decommission and refreshing of lab systems and Servers
- Ability to perform proactive break-fix walk-throughs of the data center
