IT Infrastructure Specialist Job

IT INFRASTRUCTURE SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Axis, AL.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsibilities include defining the business requirements for the organization's next generation of collaborative work tools, which involves working with end-users to develop specifications for the development and implementation of groupware applications (eg, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange).
- Based on the business requirements, responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of groupware systems. Evaluates and recommends associated hardware/software solutions based on business requirements and user needs. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership in the design, development and promotion of selected groupware strategies.
- Actively involved in engineering and deploying various groupware applications such as team collaborative computing, Internet and wireless access, document sharing and next generation messaging clients
- Technician will be responsible for all the devices out of scope for our managed desktop service as well as perform the duties of the 2nd level support for the on-site Servers.
- Act as Server Administrator for Servers located at several Houston area manufacturing sites, Physical Servers, Various Windows O/S, Folder owners/access assignments and auditing.
- Participate in Life Cycle Management of all server assets
- Work closely with our level 1 support vendor - IBM
- Responsible for tech rooms at the facility and for maintaining the "right" amount of spares (Inventory).
- Assist with ordering necessary equipment for break/fix situations.
- Provide support for all devices not included under Managed desktop service, referred to as OOS (Out-of-scope). This includes any device with "specialized software".
- Keep a small inventory of necessary parts and assist the areas with ordering specialized equipment.
- Provide Software technical support for Servers and/or PCs. This will involve developing solutions that can be leveraged across the sites with special consideration to ensure our clients environment is not compromised.
- Be a backup to TCOM corporate team if needed. Provide the hands-on and feet-on-the-ground as needed to implement TCOM projects and break/fix solutions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- We need the technician to have server, desktop and some TCOM experience. No college degree is required, but certifications are always a plus
- One year contract could be extended
- Provide support for specialized software. MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50LBS. WILL BE MOVING AND LIFTING EQUIPMENT. ALSO WILL BE WALKING BETWEEN BUILDING REGULARLY.
- Hours are from 7:30 am till 4 PM
