IT-Infrastructure Expert (f/m)

We are looking for an IT infrastructure engineer to identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware-, software and network- related problems in our customer's technical infrastructure.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform system administration duties on network servers (windows, linux) and equipment as needed.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware-, software and network- related problems.
- Coordinate and plan new setups with customers. Single point of contact to the customer for technical matters.
- Install equipment on customer sites and get it operational. (includes travel to locations in Asia-Pacific region)
- Use existing systems to log, track and monitor your work, customer requests as well as problems.
- Support software developers by addressing their infrastructure needs.
- Automate reoccurring tasks by means of shell scripts or system automation tools like Puppet or Ansible.
- Enforce the company's network security and installation procedures.

CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO:

-Identify, analyse and troubleshoot a wide range of complex technical computer- and network-related problems effectively
-Listen and communicate information to a wide variety of clients and vendors at all levels of skill
-Deliver customer support both in-person and over the phone in a professional manner
-Learn and apply new technical knowledge quickly
-Communicate effectively with a diverse client base both verbally and in writing
-Work independently and as a member of a team
-Speak English fluently on a professional level.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF:

- Capabilities and limitations of various computer systems, including local area networks and wide area networks
- The principles of information systems design, especially related to multi-protocol, multi-platform client/server environments
- Principles and practices of networking technologies
- LAN/WAN protocols
- Theory and practice of LAN/WAN administration
- Server operating systems and various software applications.
- Implementing local area networks using multiple OS and platforms
- Network and computer trouble-shooting skills
- IP(v4/v6), UDP, TCP, multicasting, VLANs (802.11Q)

Certifications are not a must have but experience in those areas is viewed as very helpful:

-LPIC
-CCNA/CCENT
-PPC
