IT Infrastructure Engineer

IT Infrastructure Engineer required for an initial 12 Weeks contract based in Sheffield

IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for prioritise & co-ordinate an effective, timely IT technical support service to internal & external customers. Actively manage & classifying support requests received using ITIL best practices, including assessing the business priority, analyse, diagnose & take ownership of 1st, 2nd & 3rd line faults through to resolution, where necessary using 3rd party contacts.

Substantial exp. in a system support role
Substantial exp. in a MS Windows Environment
Exp. in a Windows Server Environment including Active Directory & Exchange
Previous experience of carrying out backup & disaster recovery
Previous experience in SAN technologies
Previous experience of remote access working
Previous experience of Microsoft Clustering & Hyper-V

IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER KNOWLEDGE:

IT Infrastructure related qualification
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Server (incl. Active Directory, Exchange, Hyper-V)
Proven knowledge of Microsoft desktop environment
Knowledge of administering Cisco Switches & Routers
Knowledge & understanding of the principles of project management
Knowledge & understanding of best working practices using the ITIL framework

Understanding of the implications of legislation affecting IT use, including the Data Protection Act, Computer Misuse Act & appropriate health & safety legislation

Provide & maintain a consistent service to ensure business applications function as specified. To ensure a smooth roll-out of new & improved applications. To liaise with colleagues working different hours to ensure that support calls are resolved & proper documentation is maintained.

Suppliers of hardware, software & services - to provide the products & services required for the running of the organisation's IT Infrastructure.

Providers of IT knowledge & services - to assist in maintaining & improving the IT Infrastructure in order to meet business requirements.
