IT INFRASTRUCTURE ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in WILMINGTON, DE.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- This position is in the Research Computing Infrastructure (RCI) Team of Research Information & Computational Sciences (RICS).
- The role within the RCI Team is primarily responsible for ensuring stable operation and high availability of Linux operating systems, storage and Servers for HPC environment and secondarily Windows server operating systems, storage and Servers.
- These Servers currently provide services such as Compute, File, Web, and Database to the science and technology community.
- RCI also supports a number of Servers hosting technical applications.
- This position requires occasional participation in providing coverage outside of normal working hours in a global environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Proficient with Linux Operating System installation, configuration, patching and administration.(prefer Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS)
- Knowledge of at least one programming or Scripting language (prefer Perl and/or PowerShell).
- Experience working with hardware and software vendors.
- Knowledge of distributed computing tools and environments (system integration).
- Understanding of Workstation/server hardware break/fix coordination and resolution.
- Experience working as Level 1 support for local and remote customers and systems.
- Knowledge of system management tools (prefer Microsoft System Center, Dell Open Manage Essentials, and/or Nagios).
- Working knowledge of enterprise backup systems and schedules.
- Good oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to understand and translate customer problems and needs into technical solutions
- Knowledge of provisioning tools (prefer Kickstart)
- Knowledge of client connectivity to NAS and SAN systems (preferred end-to-end).
- Experience with Windows Server Operating System installation, configuration and administration.
- Working knowledge of virtual Hypervisor management systems (preferred VMWare and KVM).
- Knowledge of cloud management tools.
- Experience with Grid computing.
- Experience with backup software (prefer Networker and/or TSM).
- Experience installing, upgrading, supporting, and troubleshooting technical applications.
- Working as part of a project team including project management, planning and execution.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Installation of operating systems, upgrades and some applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Performance monitoring, capacity planning, backup/restore and system security.
- Develop integration tools to simplify, automate and enhance both the operation and end user access to centralized computing services.
- Document procedures such as custom installations, preventive maintenance and upgrades.
- Follow established procedures such as change management.
- Involves interaction with and providing consultation to end users in the technical community, other internal teams as well as hardware and software vendors in order to provide integrated solutions to customers.
- The individual should be able to work independently and within a team environment.
