IT Functional Architect (Brussels)

Je functie: Context of the mission
The candidate will work within the IT organisation, in the IS Asset, Finance & Risk Management team (IS AFR), which is responsible for building and maintaining all IT
applications for the CIO, CRO and CFO functions within AG Insurance. He will report directly to the IS AFR Team Manager.
The candidate will update and manage the description of the as-is application architecture in Provision, working with the business process analyst who is responsible for maintaining
the description of business processes. He will also create a high level to-be architecture (functional & application level) together with the different business stakeholders.
He will participate in all key projects of the team to ensure solution architecture choices are in the line with the to-be architecture. This can mean proposing solutions himself, or
validating proposals from IT analysts. Solutions are designed in co-operation with Technical Architects and Infrastructure Architects.
Thus he will deal on a daily basis with senior management, peers and junior staff, both internally and externally, with business and IT backgrounds.
Proven experience with data, functional and solution architecture in an IT environment is a must. At least a basic knowledge of the functional domains of (Financial) Risk
Management, Asset Management and Finance is required.
A basic knowledge of technologies such as .Net, SSIS, Mainframe/Cobol, (SAS) DWH & ETL would be useful.

Objectives of the job
° Update of the as-is architecture
o You complete and maintain the architecture schemas in ProVision, based on interviews with all stakeholders
° Architecture & Application Lifecycle Management
o You maintain a high-level vision of our functional and application architecture
o You define current and target state application architecture aligned with requirements of the various business and technology initiatives, ensuring the necessary coherence in applications architecture.
o You improve and maintain the processes, the tools used to realize our functional architecture analysis.
° Requirements & Solution definition
o On some projects, you are responsible for gathering & consolidating the business requirements: this includes not only documenting & analysing, but also negotiating, prioritizing, alternatives proposals, definition & organization of the approach for collecting & consolidating the requirements to lead to a consistent & reliable solution.
o You have the ability to analyse, define, design and propose solutions to business problems at the highest level of complexity or in areas calling for significantly innovative approaches.
o The solutions you propose take into account not only the business requirements, but also the application development standards & the operational constraints & risks.
° Analysis & Design :
o During development of the target architecture, you compare application options according to function, technology and cost, make a recommendation and develop potential migration paths to the target state model
o You understand the functional and technical architecture
o You realize the functional architecture analysis and estimate the implementation cost for requirements
o You hand over the functional architecture analysis to the functional and technical analysts and deliver further support if necessary
o You integrate the relevant stakeholders (business / domain experts / …) in the analysis & design process to ensure knowledge transfer & coaching.
° Realization:
o During the realization phase of applications, you follow up the compliance of architecture with standards and support architecture responsibilities as part of the standard project lifecycle
o You are responsible for the functional coherence of your domains: determination, implementation and follow up of functional concepts, integration of business needs in existing software solutions
o You advise the different actors during the implementation phasing and bring a functional coaching to the functional development points of contact
° Client relationship / Stakeholder management
o You assist the team manager and project leaders in the customer's relation.
o You establish and maintain working relationships with technology management, business management, program sponsors, key business clients, and infrastructure management
