IT Financial Analyst - 6 Month Contract

IT FINANCIAL ANALYST

DESCRIPTION:

THE SME/FINANCE ANALYST WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE SR. MANAGER OF CAPITAL PLANNING & PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT TO ASSIST IN THE PREPARATION OF YEARLY AND MULTI-YEAR FINANCIAL BUDGET/PLANS. FURTHERMORE, THE ANALYST WILL PERFORM CAPITAL TRACKING AND ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE PRESENT AND FUTURE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE.

GATHERS, ANALYZES, PREPARES AND SUMMARIZES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FINANCIAL PLANS, PROCUREMENT ACTIVITY, AND CAPITAL/OPERATING FORECASTS.

ASSIST OR RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STRATEGIC ANALYSIS OF BUSINESS CASES, BUDGETS, FORECASTS, AND LONG-TERM PLANS.

Capital Tracking, Procurement Tracking, Financial Analysis
Participates in the planning and development of departmental and/or functional budgets and forecasts.
Prepares/reviews monthly financial reports and conducts comprehensive analyses with written summaries to management.
May be accountable for the coordination, compilation and distribution of financial data.
Performs variance analysis in collaboration with ST&O Managers & IMG Finance
Participates in and/or leads projects of moderate to complex scope as assigned.
Exercises judgment to make decisions for less defined issues and selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Prepares and delivers formal presentations of results to management/clients
Requires significant analysis to develop solutions for complex problems.
Influences others regarding existing concepts, processes and/or methodology.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with external specialists, departments and individuals who act as resource to IT Finance
Plans/schedules job activities to work toward accomplishing set objectives.
Works under limited direction.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Computer Science with deep level understanding of IT operations and 8 years of equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 8 years financial analysis or related experience.
A minimum of 8 Years working in a moderate to Complex IT environment
Demonstrated application of financial analysis principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
Highly developed knowledge of finance theories such as presents values theory/cash flow analysis and accounting principles.

Requires strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Excel spreadsheet including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, V-lookups, Data manipulation, macros, and database management.
Able to formulate Business Cases, finance study designs and prepare and conduct professional presentations.
Full knowledge of industry practices and standards.
Requires significant analysis to develop solutions for complex problems.
Working knowledge of Cognos and/or Business Objects a plus
MBA or MBA candidate preferred.
