IT FIELD SERVICES ENGINEER - IT INFRASTRUCTURE

Location: Amsterdam

Duration: 6 month contract

Rate: Negotiable

IT Field Services Engineer works with cross-functional IT teams and business sponsors to provide end user support, assist in IT projects and implementations, maintenance or creation of procedure documentation, descriptive system and training documentation to improve operations, cross training and overall environment stability. Administers software upgrades, configures and installs new hardware and software, tests and debugs systems, monitors systems for problems, places service calls. Looks for environmental improvement opportunities and builds strong working relationships with other IT members. The Field Services Engineer spends the majority of time ensuring stable operations using monitoring tools, performing regular maintenance activities and Tier 3 desktop support.

OPERATIONS/SUPPORT RELATED (DAILY/ONGOING JOB DUTIES)

- Serves as support for file/print Servers, Active Directory, SharePoint, Exchange, and VMWare environments.
- Supports and promotes the use of virtualization environments to reduce physical hardware.
- Provides ongoing monitoring and response for systems using monitoring and alerting tools.
- Ensures supporting services are working appropriately (such as DHCP, DNS, replication, etc).
- Responsible for assisting the routine patching and software maintenance activities during monthly maintenance windows.
- Ensure ongoing compliance and assist in the renewal process for support, maintenance and licenses.
- Ensure ongoing disaster recovery capability.
- Second and/or third shift work could be required during incident resolution and major changes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Medium to high skill levels with Microsoft Windows Desktops and File/Print Services, Active Directory user and computer management, Microsoft Office, Mobile Devices (iOS, Andriod, Windows Phone).
- Medium to high skill levels with Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Internet Information Services.
- Medium to high skill levels administering network services such as DHCP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, FTP, and SSH.
- Experience building Servers and installing in an enterprise class data center, including racking and cabling.
- Ability to work in technical environments that use Windows 2003-2012 and Win7, AIX, Red Hat, NetApp, and EMC storage.
- Phenomenal customer service a must.
- Generate and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Must be systems and process oriented, and a self-motivated learner.
- Experience with systems server infrastructure planning, testing, deployment, operations, and maintenance including hardware troubleshooting and installation.
- Experience with enterprise systems monitoring.
- Experience with ADMT, ILM, unified messaging.
