Background
Capita is currently recruiting for two C# (.NET) Developers to join the development team of our Central Government client, for a 5 month contract, to start ASAP in Daresbury Park, Warrington.

Please note that the Enhanced CRB Checks may take up to 1 month from point of offer for this post. The position is for a new commercial arm being setup by the client, and the role will entail developing and maintaining existing and new commercial/Crown owned software applications; to ensure they meet business needs and innovate where possible using Agile development techniques. This role will give the applicant the opportunity to work on up to date technologies such as WebAPI, Entity Framework 5.0, SQL Server 2012 and Visual Studio 2012 (.NET Framework 4.5), as well as applications aimed at the mobile market (ie. Android/iPad Apps etc). The environment you will be working in has a casual dresscode, unless otherwise specified, and the hours have a degree of flexibility (based around a core Mon-Fri, 9 till 5) though this is subject to business needs.

Main duties
To develop and document a SQL Server 2012, Management Information System, taking textfiles from other government departments and performing complex queries to extract and record information in a quick and efficient manner. To design and develop a Contact Management System, aimed at supporting the commercial arm and their associates in their activities with an international client base. To support development work already taking place on a Case Management system (.NET Framework 4.5, Entity Framework, WebAPI, SQL 2012) To work on new/innovative systems as identified within the Central Government arena, such as Web Services that will be utilised both in the UK and abroad to perform ad-hoc calculations.

Outputs and deliverables
Outputs will be managed on an day to day basis, however all commercial applications are required to be Assistive Technology compliant, with wide browser compatibility. Multi-lingual and cross-platform considerations will need to be made. This Central Government client will welcome and relish your expertise in suggesting further development of systems to ensure they are at the cutting edge of technology.

Skills & Experience
Essential: Strong C# skills Strong .NET Framework 2 (or higher) skills Strong SQL Server 2005 (or higher) skills, including strong practical SQL Server performance optimisation techniques and strategy, as well as T-SQL.
Javascript Desirable: Entity Framework LINQ JQuery WebAPI VB.NET (useful but not essential for Legacy system support) Graphical experience (ie. Photoshop) Mobile device development experience (ie. Android, iPad etc.)
