IT Communications Project Lead - Secret Clearance Job

IT COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT LEAD needed for a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity with Yoh's client located in Quantico, Virginia.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Provide support through all phases of IT strategic communication planning, including general and targeted communication plans.
- Develop and maintain IT communication strategic plan.
- Use of media, public relations, marketing and organizational change management best practices.
- Review current communication policies to determine impacts to the client organization.
- Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of generalized and targeted internal and external communications plans.
- Develop policy and process; identify risk, for the use of social media technology in support of the overall communication plan.
- Monitor success of communication delivery vehicles and content.
- Recommends improvements to communication related methodologies and processes and helps integrate or implement them in order to more effectively deliver requirements and support IT.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications and three (3) years of related work experience
- Able to obtain or currently hold a Secret-level security clearance required
- Project Management Professional Certification
- Three (3) plus years of experience in journalism, public relations, communications and/or marketing
- Minimum 5 years of experience using Microsoft Publisher

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Knowledge of Associate Press writing style, communication campaign development, project management, event planning, media relations, and social media
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office, including the ability to create accurate spreadsheets in Excel and presentations in PowerPoint
- Demonstrated capability to combine communication methodologies to conform to client environment
- Sound experience developing, implementing and measuring performance objectives
- Strong understanding of organizational change management techniques
- Proven experience using social media technologies
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
- Exceptional writing and editing ability and skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and team skills
- Demonstrated ability to convey complex information visually
- Experience in creating and executing strategic and tactical communications plans
- Experience in executing different communication marketing methods (newsletters, blogs, wiki)
- Experience with SharePoint
- Outgoing with excellent interpersonal skills and understands the chain of command
