IT Commercial Manager

Background
Our Central government client require a IT Commercial Manager to be based form Warrington. The Programme comprises the set of activities required to prepare for and re-compete our clients IT Services contracts. It is required to ensure the IT Services are maintained and where appropriate amended and improved, before the relevant current contracts expire.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
The IT Commercial Manager will be accountable for developing the optimum sourcing approach that meets the strategic ambitions of the programme measured against value for money, service quality, and future flexibility. In essence the role will be responsible for. Developing the end-to-end strand vision and interlock with other programme strands. Supporting and providing the Programme/Strand Lead with thought leadership and market in-sight. Producing collateral for workshops, Executive updates & forums. Leading and facilitating design workshops. Working in conjunction with Commercial Directorate to develop Commercial Strategies. Working in conjunction with Finance, performing economic and financial based options analysis. Modelling the financial impact of various options against the existing Service Framework and developing the Strand/Programme business case and performing price point analysis in an IT context. Translating business requirements into suitable business outcomes, developing innovative options that meet the ambitions of the programme. Providing knowledge transfer to other members of the Programme

Proposed Charging & Commercial Models. Service Level Requirements. Financial & Budgetary Plans. Risk, Issues, Action, Decision Logs. Progress Reports & Executive Updates. Exit Plans. Transition Plans. Stakeholder Presentations

Skills/Experience Required
A wealth of experience working in complex IT environments. Specialist within the area of at least one of the following services. SIAM. Network. Hosting. Security It is essential that the candidate can demonstrate a successful track record. Working in a Senior Programme Delivery role. Developing sound commercial and financial solutions to complex IT technical and service issues. Leading delivery of a formal procurement exercise for IT service contract essential. Providing insight to and influencing senior stakeholders. Working within a team environment, with a mixtures of internal and external resources. Experience of managing suppliers within a formal procurement exercise. Excellent understanding of financial and commercial modelling and ability to contribute and lead economic & financial options analysis. excellent negotiation & Interpersonal skills
