IT Category Manager

IT CATEGORY MANAGER with software applications licencing experience required for excellent CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY with a global infrastructure services company in SHEFFIELD

You will be responsible for defining and managing the sourcing strategy for IT categories, setting out which suppliers to use for which IT services and manage relationships to ensure best value from the IT supply market.

Key duties will include:

- Development of category and sourcing strategy/policies for specific spend areas
- Set financial targets and allocate owners for categories and vendors as a result of sourcing and vendor management activities
- Delivery of key performance targets and service standards
- Act as a centre of expertise and knowledge for category users
- Develop long term value adding relationships with internal stakeholders and third party suppliers

Essential Experience:

- Extensive experience of category management
- Good understanding of IT services and infrastructure market
- Proven experience of managing strategic supplier relationships
- Proven experience of developing and implementing sourcing strategies that deliver savings
- Recognised procurement qualification and membership of relevant professional body (eg CIPS)
