BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST

LOCATION: ALISO VIEJO, CA

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst will have responsibility for eliciting, documenting and managing requirements artifacts, business rules, and requirements for Laboratory Operations, including projects sanctioned through the Project Review Board (PRB) related to products, assays, technology platforms, and other system development efforts. He/she will serve as a key member of the Strategic Planning and Lab Operations teams interfacing with Information Technology (IT).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

o Product Development, Management Information Systems same for start delay or previous contract durations
3. Systems background with an automated application or system like Lab Information System (LIS) required. Manufacturing workflow or MIS (Manufacturing Information System) is okay
4. Candidate must be able to facilitate and create Context, High-Level Use Case, Actors Catalogue, Detailed Use Cases, Sequence Diagrams, State Diagrams
5. Must have above average verbal and written communication skills
6. Must have excellent listening skills with ability to reflect info back to speaker
7. Will be paired with subject matter expert from Lab so lack of Lab experience is okay with a strong BSA skill set
8. Should be able to write SQL query statements
9. Must know SDLC, no particular focus on AGILE, SCRUM, Iterative, or Waterfall
10. Green or Black Belt a plus but not required

Education and Experience Requirements:
* B.A./B.S. from accredited 4 year university or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
* Minimum 5 years esoteric lab experience. (preferred)
* Technical experience in Microsoft Office applications is required.
* Willingness to incorporate components of the Lean Six Sigma tool set.

The perfect candidate would have experience using Enterprise Architect to create UML models who also has experience working for a diagnostic lab. This person must have strong communication skills, strong core BA skills and good analytical skills.
