IT Business System Analyst (Statistical Analysis/R/Python)

Our client, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, is looking for an EXPERIENCED TECHNOLOGY-CENTRIC BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYSt with a solid understanding of ANALYTICAL, OPEN SOURCE, AND CLOUD TECHNOLOGIES who is looking to play a critical role on a team focused on one of the company's key strategic initiatives.

This is a contracting role based in Basel and in the Basel area and planned to start mid of September until end of March 2019 with extension opportunities.

BACKGROUND:

This role will be part of the Pharma PHC (Personalized Healthcare) IT/Technology Team that provides global technology solutions to enable the Pharma PHC Vision and Strategy. The Business Systems Analyst ( BSA ) will partner with key stakeholders to design, develop and implement an integrated PHC Global Advanced Analytics Platform.

We expect the BSA to be a passionate about the transformational opportunities of PHC 2.O. The Business Systems Analyst must be an effective communicator in working with multiple business units as well as with internal IT cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a curious self-starter that is entirely capable of generating results within ambiguous environments.

TASKS:

- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop advanced analytics requirements and use cases for various data source types, including Imaging, Omics, Digital Health, and RWD.
- Document scientific questions and analytical use cases to drive design, prioritization, and optimization of the PHC Advanced Analytics platform.
- Support any additional efforts of the PHC IT Advanced Analytics team that may include business process analysis, best practice research, user-centric functional design, vendor evaluations, systems assessments, and user acceptance testing facilitation.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and end-user working sessions intended to surface requirements and validate designs
- Be accountable for documentation, which may include, but is not limited to: User Requirements; Functional and/or technical specifications; Process flow diagrams; Training documentation and/or work instructions; Computer System Validation documents
- Participate in meetings, document discussions, and provide attendees with clear meeting outcomes and action items.
- Facilitate and/or support customers in UAT planning and execution.
- Drive resolution of business risks or systems issues.

IDEAL PROFILE:

- 5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE as an IT BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST and a demonstrated ability to work in FAST-PACED, HIGHLY AMBIGUOUS, AND EVOLVING ENVIRONMENT.
- Exposure to and/or experience of INTEGRATING STATISTICAL ANALYSIS TOOLS (eg. R, PYTHON, TENSORFLOW, PYTORCH, etc.)
- Understanding of underlying computational requirements for PERFORMING ADVANCED ANALYTICS (EG OS CAPABILITIES, CORRELATION MATRIX GENERATION, PARALLELIZATION, TPU/GPU, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to quickly produce clearly written, well-organized documentation; excellent presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn the business in unfamiliar areas and to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience and understanding of application development methodology - including Agile and Waterfall approaches, functional and non-functional requirements, data flow modelling, use case development, capability to solution mapping, test case development and execution.
- Ability to rapidly understand business requirements and communicate business expectations to cross-functional technology development teams.
- Experience with and understanding of any of the following areas a plus: Cloud Infrastructure; Computer systems validation; Different Data modalities eg IMAGING, ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS, GENOMICS, REAL WORLD DATA, CLINICAL TRIAL DATA, AND DIGITAL HEALTH DATA; Open source technologies (R, PYTHON, GITHUB, etc.)
- Fluent in English

NICE TO HAVES:

- BA/BS in Business, Science, or Computer Science preferred
- Experience with and understanding of Pharmaceutical/Biotech GxP environment
