IT Business Analyst

We are looking for an experienced IT BUSINESS ANALYST in Brussels. You will be important part of the team supporting The Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC). This is the executive branch of the European Union responsible for policy on education, culture, youth, languages, and sport.

Your Role:

- Analysis of Business requirements
- Business cases analysis and functional/no-functional requirements
- Business processes modelling
- Process analysis and analysis of the integration of different information systems
- Risk and impact analysis
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Coordination and collaboration with the development teams
- Contribute to documentation of user requirements and functional requirements

Your Profile

- You are Business Analyst, with minimum 13 years of professional experience and higher education, 9 of which are in project management
- Business analysis and project management tools and methodologies
- Modelling tools such as UML
- Methodologies such as RUP or Agile
- In depth knowledge and proven experience in development of web-based information systems
- Knowledge of interoperability technology (eg web services, message oriented Middleware)
- Incident Management tools (JIRA is an advantage)
- Proven experience in development of web-based information systems
- Knowledge of software development methodologies
- Good knowledge of modelling tools and UML
- Strong capacity in preparing and writing clear and structured technical reports and documentation
- Excellent command of English
- French language is an asset

The position is offered as a freelance contract, initially for one year, with a high probability of further extensions.
