IT BUSINESS ANALYST

JOB SUMMARY

DURATION: 6 MONTHS

LOCATION: WALNUT CREEK

DESCRIPTION:

This position is in high demand. The purpose of this posting is to manage project intake requests coming thru Network Services via NS Intake process. The Business Analyst intake owner will be in charge of the screening process for when a project requisition is submitted by the requestor. Intake owner is responsible to prepare initial assessment of project requests; Validates resource requirements and work closely with the requestor to obtain high level estimate costs and define clear scope. Conducts and coordinates meetings within the various departments of Network Services for consultation purpose. Interacts with both Project and Program Managers for initiation of engineer design requests. Provides consultative and support to Network Services' customers and stakeholders on all stages of the Intake Process. Provides feedback for process improvement, as appropriate. Strong business acumen, systems applications (end-user) and very strong communication skills..

IN ADDITION TO THE JOB DESCRIPTION PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

TOP 3-5 DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assess and properly address services requests (Project requests, Work Orders, Design Review) according to pre-defined business process
- Gather details of IT services requirements, including but not limited to quick consultation review meetings
- Define key metrics for intake requests and report those metrics to the leadership team
- Provide regular status report on pending requests

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of experience in IT; Solid basic understanding of IT operational processes and procedures
- This individual must first be a business person and then a technologist possessing skills including, but not limited to, the following:
- Strong communicator, internal advisor, with team management and coordination skills and the ability to lead teams to metric-based judgments and decisions
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Ability to successfully multitask and complete difficult assignments within deadlines and with short lead times
-Basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint (as User )

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Knowledge of workflows, particularly in a large IT environments
- Ability to partner with diverse business partners and clients to understand their expectations, and to deliver to them services that meet or exceed the desired performance
- Basic understanding of project life cycle
- Knowledge of BMC Remedy Tool is a big plus

SOFT SKILLS:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independent, under minimum supervision
- Fast learner and teamwork oriented
