IT Architect, Banking Operations (Contract, Zurich)

For our client, an international bank, Swisslinx are looking for a highly experienced IT Architect with a background in the banking financial services sector for a long term project to implement a target architecture in Zurich, Switzerland with a strong potential for extension.

This is a 6 month contract starting in March/April 2015.

IT ARCHITECT, BANKING OPERATIONS (CONTRACT, ZURICH)

As a part of the Operations IT strategy and architecture function this role will contribute to the development of the Operations IT target architecture and work with key projects to ensure progress towards that target.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

Work with key strategic projects to ensure overall direction and alignment with Target IT Model (TIM)

Drive application landscape management to reduce complexity and overall cost to the organization for the area of the TIM you are responsible for

Collaborate with other Systems Architects to ensure areas of the TIM are aligned and achievable

Work with the delivery streams to optimise their book of work - identifying overlaps, divergence from TIM

Participate in and plan project reviews for your area of the TIM, facilitate issues resolution and communicate obligation resolution as required

Identify re-use opportunities and promote the re-use of components across the architecture

Help drive innovation within your area of the TIM to reduce costs and increase efficiency

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

Strong domain knowledge of Operations processes including settlement, position keeping and asset servicing

Solid experience in software development (Java/JEE essential, Mainframe, C++, C#, JAP desirable) including large scale development

Experienced in the architecture process and how to apply it on a daily basis

Experience with offshore development

Motivated and enthusiastic team player, strong communication skills and a conceptual working approach

Confident, assertive and effective communicator with strong influencing skills

Ability to gain consensus when faced with differing views.

Excellent documentation skills

Knowledge of formal architectural modelling methods and tools such as UML and Enterprise Architect.

Good knowledge and practical experience of using Enterprise integration patterns

Experience of architecting/implementing solutions utilizing recognized design and architecture patterns.

Fluent in English
