Contract Term

This is a 6 month contract opportunity.

Overview
Our Client requires an IT Architect.

Role and Responsibilities
In this IT Architect role, the person will collaborate with the GIS IT Portfolio team and the business clients, to holistically manage the planning, delivery and operation of IT technology and information within the GIS IT Portfolio. To manage GIS IT Portfolio planning, the Architect collaborates with the GIS IT Portfolio team and the business clients to create a strategic plan for the GIS IT Portfolio, including a roadmap of projects that will be used to transform the GIS IT Portfolio from its current state to a desired target state. The Architect maintains a challenging role as a member of both the Enterprise Architecture and GIS IT Portfolio team.

Responsibilities include:

- Participates in the generation of project proposals spun from the GIS IT Portfolio roadmap.
- Provides oversight for work done by Solution Architects and the deliverables resulting from these project proposals.
- Participates in applying Application Portfolio Management on the GIS IT Portfolio.

Qualifications
Required Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related
- 7+ years experience progressively advancing experience in IT projects in technical roles
- 2+ years experience working in a Solutions Architecture capacity
- Strong understanding of application development and the system development life cycle (including Agile)
- GIS architecture experience
- Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS suite and familiarity with the COTS approach
- Solid understanding of spatial data including ESRI's ArcSDE geodatabase and feature class format
- Experience designing GIS solutions
- Systems integration experience
- Understanding of different types of integration patterns and experience with point to point and enterprise wide integration initiatives
- Experience in multi-tiered web applications
- Proficient knowledge of .NET and Java development platforms
- Data analysis, data modelling, and data mapping experience
- Superior organization skills, with the ability to set priorities, follow-up and meet deadlines
- Solid leadership, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Display tact and good judgment in resolving problems and answering inquiries
- Ability to work independently in a very busy, varied, and diverse environment with changing priorities
- Ability to communicate complex and technical concepts clearly and appropriately with non-technical as well as technical personnel
- A high degree of initiative and self-motivation
- The ability to manage multiple, concurrent requests
- A high attention to detail while producing quality work in a timely manner.

Desired Skills:

- Understanding of oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of ITIL V3 Framework
- Understanding of ESRI GIS integration with Microsoft SharePoint
- Experience integrating Software as a Service (SaaS) systems
- Knowledge of TOGAF, PEAF, Zachman or some related Enterprise Architecture Framework/Topology
- Segment architecture experience
- Application Portfolio Management experience
- Experience performing architecture governance.
