- Support the Customer Operations Business Unit with the goal to become a top performer in the nation in customer satisfaction.
- The IT Applications Consultant (Developer/Programmer) is primarily responsible for maintaining the current applications for work management and field operations related practices.
- Duties include providing technical application support, designing, coding, testing and supporting enhancements to these applications.
- Working with our internal clients and delivering support and technical solutions is of critical importance.
- The consultant will work closely with software vendors, other application developers, database administrators, and OS administrators to implement changes.
- Other duties may include software configuration, software upgrades, technical documentation, and project management.
- Successful candidate will work with the existing staff to acquire the necessary skills to support the application or the application's architecture.
- Successful candidate should have a proven record of providing technical application support to a user base greater than 1000 individuals.
- Additionally, the successful candidate should have a proven record of developing code with long-term and short-term architecture and standards in mind.
- Applications supported by this role provide core processes for field operations work management. They also support interfaces for gas and electric asset management, outage management, and customer appointment scheduling.



- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Candidates must have experience or training in SQL and relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, and must be familiar with Visual Studio, .NET C#, and JavaScript.
- Candidates should have a proven track record with specific examples of being an independent and quick learner.
- They should demonstrate problem solving skills and the ability to speak with clients using business terms.
- They should be able to collaborate with clients and internal IT resources to find solutions which meet the business need, and which are effective, accurate, and maintainable.
- They should be able to work well independently with minimal guidance as well as in team settings.
- Good communication skills are a must and the ability to speak with clients using business terms is desired.
- Ideal candidates will start by learning the application support responsibilities for the work management applications and their associated business logic, and then participate in daily support activities associated with these applications.
- Knowledge of the following technical skills is beneficial but not required: Client Server architecture, Object Oriented programming, SOAP/REST based web services, Windows 2008/2012 operating system.
