IT APPLICATION SUPPORT CONSULTANT

My client has a requirement for an experienced IT Application support specialist to join their project.

Your role will be to Provide management and leadership to the current support group and to Provide operational and development support to the users of in-house and 3rd party business applications; Provide additional functionality to the business by using the appropriate tool sets to enhance third party applications and develop reports, workflows, and web pages .

Improve efficiency of the operations group by providing users with self-service access to data/information where applicable;

You will understand the impact and urgency of support calls in order to correctly prioritize the team's workload, including balancing support work against project work;

The post holder will undertake a variety of project work to provide additional functionality to the business above that provided by the third party business applications. This could include using tools built into applications, for example to develop new Applets in VB.NET/C#.NET, writing SSRS Reports, developing web pages to search for and display data from applications on the website or interactive web forms for the website;

Recommend optimizations to current data structures to improve speed in report production;

To identify, diagnose and rectify any number of problems affecting business applications, which may emanate from software, hardware or the operating systems;

Ensure proper coding standards are maintained;

Analyze user needs to determine technical requirements;

Identify, document and match the appropriate technology to the needs of the various business units (Accounting, Finance and Operations);

Develop or validate test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces;

Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming;
