IT APPLICATION MANAGER/ARCHITECT required to work on a project for a major pharmaceutical in Switzerland

JOB PURPOSE

- Consolidate Clients International Application Architecture
- Help building application life cycle/roadmap for existing Companies International applications (5 year vision)
- Technical consultant/expert for Information managers, application managers and service managers
- Managing applications that meets the ongoing needs, providing high level expertise, consultation to the business and IT management.
- Responsible for ensuring that the internally and externally sourced IT services are aligned with business needs and are delivered in accordance with customer Service Level Agreements to Companies IT Standards and in line with industry best practice.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Review new and existing applications portfolio from architecture stand point
- Participate in Companies International Architecture Board reviews (provide design inputs or assess solution architectures)
- Ensure the architecture is appropriate across the business domain(s) and evolves to meet changing business and technology environments, and adheres to the enterprise architecture
- Conduct industry and domain analyses for technology choices and directions
- Create technology roadmaps
- Capture architectural requirements
- Evaluate alternative approaches
- Prototype alternatives as needed
- Create architectural models and architecture documentation
- Develop application, component, data, and interface architecture for each application and project within the domain(s)
- Evaluate alternative approaches, prototype as needed, recommend solutions, create and maintain architecture documentation
- Create specifications for components and interfaces
- May assist in analysing and modelling relevant business processes
- Analyze, design, realize and implement IT solutions, including:
- Devising functional and conceptual design specifications,
- Data and process modelling,
- Developing prototypes,
- Implements standard software packages within the frame-work of the defined business application architecture, including:
- Supporting software package evaluation,
- Supporting software selection process,
- Elaborating functional and conceptual design specifications,
- Defining integration and implementation plans,
- Customizing standard solution and developing additional functions/objects according to user requirements.
- Management and direction of IT staff responsible for providing ongoing technical and application support to business units.
- Responsibilities include vendor management. And seeking out new and innovative solutions.
- Interfaces with external vendors to make sure the customers needs are met.
- Manage the day to day operations of the application portfolio and be responsible for issue resolutions and escalations.
- Implement ITIL-based service management processes.
- Negotiates key SLAs/OLAs, as needed and get them approved.
- Create and maintain application documentation
- Manage Incidents and changes using Remedy
- Manage application information in Clarity

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

- 5 years of experience in IT application management.
- Minimum 2-3 years of solution delivery/application life cycle management.
- Strong service management and vendor management experience (including managing off-shore providers).
- Solid skills in change management in a challenging environment.
- Several years of technical expertise in
- Application architecture
- Sound expertise in business analysis and system design.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a global organization.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT Architecture, technical consulting, including IT application management/life cycle management
- Familiar with The Open Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
- Familiar with .NET, SharePoint, Oracle Weblogic platforms, HTML5/responsive CSS
- Familiar with UML
- Familiar with Mobility technologies, Xcode,

LOCATION: Basel - Switzerland
DURATION: Asap till December 2013 (with option for extension)

Assistance will be provided for obtaining Swiss Work Permit, Housing, and opening Swiss Bank account.
