IS Functional Engineer

The candidate will work within our clients Information Systems. This group is responsible for all software developments of insurance related applications. The applications are developed based on a Cobol/DB2 Back Office, with various technologies used on the visual, printing and communication side.

The candidate will work in the Individual Life Division Mainframe Cobol/DB2 section. He/She will be responsible for the functional design of projects of size between 50 mds up to 500 mds.

This includes (but not exclusively):

- Techno-functional design of the deliverables within a functional domain
- SWOT analysis and implementation of improvements of the functional domain in scope
- Scoping, estimation, planning and follow-up of the design and implementation of projects impacting the domain
- Communication & synchronization with the architects and project leaders
- Collaboration with the teams & the team leaders of other functional domains that are impacted or involved in the project.
- Adequate communication & progress reporting to the IT management.

ESSENTIAL:

- Master in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Sciences
- Experience in Insurance or banking domain
- 2-3 years Experience with Application Development of Administrative systems in an IT department
- 2-3 years Strong understanding of Source code Cobol and SQL
- 3-5 years Significant experience as Functional Analyst, in direct contact with Business stakeholders.
- 3-5 years Experience with analysis methodologies

DESIRED:

- Web based Client Server systems with MF Back End (Cobol/DB2)
- Batch process experience
- Cobol/DB2 programming experience
- Project leading principles/experience - Prince2 methodology
- Test management principles (TMAP)
