Investment Accountant Job

INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Ana, CA.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Two to three (2-3) years minimum prior investment experience and knowledge of Fixed Income and equity securities required
- Advanced knowledge in the interpretation and application of investment securities and accounting principles and practices required.
- Experience with investment and accounting systems such as CAMRA, Advent, and Bloomberg strongly preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for maintaining and updating investment securities in CAMRA system.
- A third party money manager will handle all trading and provide data.
- This role will be responsible for understanding what was traded and updating it in CAMRA
- This will be a (2-3) month role to assist with an anticipated increase in volume as FA moves to this third party money manager process.
- Maintains integrity of investment accounting information and systems, in accordance with standards and rules under GAAP, as well as other regulating bodies.
- Reconciles, analyzes and synthesizes investment and financial data from departmental investment management operations.
- Provides investment data for use in producing public financial statements, including balance sheet, income statements, SEC filings, DOI reports and other regulatory reports.
- Executes investment accounting policy and procedures and participates in internal and external audits. Assists with production and tracking of investment portfolio performance to the respective benchmarks. Assists with producing executive management level presentation materials.
- Performs most complex accounting activities to maintain complete and accurate investment accounting system
- Prepares financial statements and reports to SEC, statutory and other regulatory reporting agencies
- Primarily managing Fixed Income portfolio
- Interface with internal and external audit
- Assists with special projects including process improvement initiatives
- Plays key role in monthly and quarterly close process
- Supports accounting in preparation of financial statements
- Reconciles accounts and financial records; creates reports

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Four (4) year college degree in accounting preferred
- Strong computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
