Investigation Officer

I am looking to hire an investigation Officer for our public sector police client.

KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrable knowledge of key legislation, statutory guidance, approved professional practice, established doctrine and local safeguarding procedures, in the areas of. Child Death. Child Protection and Abuse Investigation (SCAIDP). The investigation of Rape and Serious Sexual Offences. Management of Police Information. PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) and CPIA (Criminal Procedure and Investigation Act). The workings of the criminal justice system and the rules of best evidence, investigative interviewing of witnesses and suspects, case file preparation and an awareness of forensics In summary, the knowledge level should be commensurate to that of a detective constable in the same department, ie PIP Level 2.

EXPERIENCE: Substantial experience at an equivalent level in a serious and/or complex crime investigation role. Key Skills. A proven investigative ability. The ability to interview victims, witnesses and suspects. Competent in the use of IT systems, digital audio and visual
