The primary responsibilities for this position include engagement with stakeholder teams - Marketing, Content authoring, Production, and Engineering functions. The IPM will own planning, organizing and coordinating the localization schedule that drives the continuous publishing schedule for localized languages. The IPM will ensure the schedule is shared with and adhered to by stakeholders, and make adjustments to the schedule when needed.
Owning the schedule includes owning forecasting and budgeting on a month-to-month basis. This requires engaging with stakeholders to understand what is in the pipeline for localization, ensuring this does not exceed budget targets and escalating where this is an issue. You will also be responsible for devising and seeking approval to implement proposals on how to keep within budget targets when escalating issues.
The IPM is also responsible for vendor management. This involves ensuring that the vendor has all necessary information, tools, and knowledge to deliver quality localization on schedule. Working with the IPE, you will be responsible for ensuring handoffs happen on schedule and that the vendor delivers handbacks on time. You will act as the primary contact for the vendor including sending official handoff emails and being the first point of escalation.
You will also be responsible for ensuring efficient bug management ie bugs are triage, resolved, and regressed in a timely manner and in accordance with priority and severity.
SUMMARY OF CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and manage content localization for the website
- Represent localization function in weekly planning meetings
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure schedule is adhered to and make schedule adjustments as needed
- Manage localization budget for continuous publishing
- Support external localization vendors
- Make the 'right' decision for the project in ambiguous situations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in localization/project management; knowledge of localization cycle
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of web content localization engineering process and tools (such as Trados)
- Experience localizing software content into a high number target languages
- Independence, self-motivation, and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of localizability practices and concepts
- Experience localizing multimedia material
- Scripting, C# knowledge
- Experience developing productivity tools
