International Project Engineer

OUR CLIENT IS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST\'S SIGNATURE SOFTWARE COMPANY SEEKING AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT/LOCALIZATION ENGINEER FOR A PREMIUM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY.

WORK EXPERIENCE

- Software localization
- Software development: Windows App development, game development (Xbox, Windows Phone, other game consoles)
- Mobile device programming
- Work with non-English languages (Asian, European, Central European, Russian, Arabic, etc.)
- New graduates with limited experience considered based on skill level

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

- Win32 APIs
- .NET Framework
- Regular Expressions - can understand expressions such as "[a-z]*?", "a{, 10}"
- Unicode coding
- XML data processing
- Basic algorithms such as tree sorts, arrays, search algorithms, etc.
- Knowledge of Game Engines such as UnReal, Scaleform, Unity, etc., a strong plus

PROGRAMMING SKILLS REQUIRED

- Ability to read and understand code logic/behavior quickly even without execution
- Ability to add functionality to existing code following original coding style with minimum cost, code, risk, stability issues, side effects, etc.
- Ability to debug existing code, find the root cause, implement a solution, and explain solution to others
- Ability to create small tools from scratch (file format conversion tools, text parsing tools, etc.)

PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES

- C++, C#
- Batch Files (.bat)
- Perl, Awk, and other Scripting languages
- Assembly Language (16-bit or higher architectures)

TOOL KNOWLEDGE

- Visual Studio/Team Foundation Server
- Version Control Software
- Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel)
- Adobe Flash software knowledge
- Ability to quickly learn and use internal tools through documentation and training

OTHER PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

- Read and understand programming-related technical documents in English
- Communicate problems, suggestions, and solutions in English
- Write specification and usage documentation in English
- Analyze problems through communication without viewing source code directly
- Communicate with PM, and Test to determine root cause and propose feasible solutions
- Quick turnaround on developing solutions to problems
- Logical thinking and flexible in approach
- Positive thinking, motivated, self-critical, smart, and persistent (doesn't give up easily)
