OUR NATION-WIDE UTILITIES CLIENT REQUIRE A COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER TO JOIN THEIR TEAM IN WARRINGTON ON A CONTRACT BASIS TO ASSIST IN THE DELIVERY OF EFFECTIVE INTERNAL COMMUNICATION ON CHANGE PROGRAMMES.

SCOPE OF ROLE

To assist the Employee communications manager of change programmes, to act as part of the BUSINESS CHANGE team to PLAN, CREATE AND DELIVER COMMUNICATIONS that actively contribute to the delivery of successful change projects and programmes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

WORKING WITH THE PROJECT/PROGRAMME TEAM TO DEVELOP A COMMUNICATIONS AND STAKEHOLDER APPROACH AND PLAN THAT WILL DELIVER EFFECTIVE, ENGAGING COMMS TO THE RELEVANT AUDIENCES.

THIS INCLUDES:

- Acting as the communications LEAD ON ALLOCATED PROJECTS
- Making sure that the approach and plan are integrated with the wider business readiness and change plan
- Working closely with the INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS team to ensure messages and timings fit with the overall communications messages and business area communications plans
- Managing a communications BUDGET (as part of the project budget) that will deliver effective communications support that's good value for money

PROVIDE ADVICE AND GUIDANCE TO BOTH THE PROJECT/PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT TEAM AND CHANGE TEAM ON EFFECTIVE WAYS TO COMMUNICATE CHANGE WITH EMPLOYEES

- Facilitate the CREATION OF CORE MESSAGES AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT PLAN to establish the basis of communications for projects and understand all communication audiences
- Advise on appropriate communication channels and effective ways of using the right channel for the right audience

DEVELOP CREATIVE COMMUNICATIONS MATERIAL AND CAMPAIGNS THAT BRING THE CHANGE TO LIFE AND PROMOTE THE BRAND VOICE

- Prepare briefs for design and PRODUCTION OF MATERIAL required to support the communications plan
- Oversee the production of key comms - from message development through to production and design and appropriate use of core channels
- Continually review content, liaising with the Employee Communications Officer - change specialist, project/programme management team and business leads to ENSURE MATERIAL IS TIMELY, ACCURATE AND FIT FOR PURPOSE
- Measure and monitor the effectiveness of activities; events; feedback and make recommendations to internal customers in order to support continuous improvement

WORK WITH THE EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER ON CHANGE PROGRAMMES TO:

- Seek feedback from key audiences as part of an ongoing stakeholder engagement and evaluation process
- Adapt and refine the employee communication plan to ensure business requirements are continually met and exceeded
- Provide regular reports on all communication activities and associated budget spend

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE REQUIRED

- Industry-acknowledged accreditation, eg CIPR
- Experience of working on change projects in other LARGE AND COMPLEX ORGANISATIONS
- Awareness and knowledge of delivering effective communication techniques and approaches, including multi-channel approach to include online and offline.
- Ability to write clearly and straightforwardly in appropriate business language and on brand
- Experience developing communications tools - for example the Intranet, social media and other new communication tools
- Understanding techniques used to fulfil key CORPORATE MATERIAL, eg magazines and campaign material.

EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE UTILITIES INDUSTRY WOULD BE HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS.
