To manage site communications at the West Burton and Cottam coal stations and to support the Upstream Communications Consultant in the delivery of internal communications and employee engagement activities to the wider Upstream business unit

To support the Coal Operations leadership team with their site communications and engagement requirements.

To support the leadership at Coal Operations leadership by preparing site specific communications such as the weekly e-bulletin, the monthly briefing and learning briefs.

To support the Upstream Communications Consultant in planning, developing and implementing EDF Energy and Upstream specific projects on time and to a high standard.

To help deliver specific communication campaigns to support the cascade of ESCS-wide communications strategy within the Upstream business unit To ensure timely delivery of news and business information to employees and managers

To support the wider EDF Energy and ESCS businesses in key engagement activities - e.g. the Employee Engagement Survey cycle To develop and maintain content on Upstream, ESCS Central and ESCS intranet as required.

To play a key role in supporting Health & Safety initiatives within the Upstream business, devising communications plans, working with agencies to develop high quality communications materials and ensuring audiences are fully engaged with the safety agenda.

To support the Communications Consultant and the Upstream senior leadership team in co-ordinating various events, conferences and meeting activities

To act as a central point for queries about the Upstream business and the Cottam/West Burton locations.

To contribute to building up a strong and efficient team to manage a centralised approach to ESCS communications.

While this role will have a primary alignment to the Upstream business and a specific Communications Consultant they will be expected to participate in projects and initiatives across the team at certain times.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent

Excellent writing ability and verbal communicator

Ability to engage and build relationships both up and downwards within the organisational structure

Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and take a consultative approach

Experience with working with and managing creative agencies

Ability to work under pressure and to think creatively to ensure the communications are delivered in a cost-effective manner while not compromising on quality and content

Ability to work autonomously, showing initiative.

Ability to turn ideas into actions, using a structured and thought out process

Ability to manage several projects at one time, prioritising and managing the expectations of others

Proven experience of working well in a dynamic, fast moving business environment

Good team player while also having the ability to work effectively as an individual within that team.

Experience of working within an industrial, unionised working environment

Sense of humour and positive attitude essential

Excellent Microsoft Office skills and a good basic working knowledge of Adobe design packages would be an advantage
