Internal Auditor - Regulatory Compliance

A major Wealth and Asset Manager is looking for a Lead Internal Auditor to join them on a 6 month contract to focus on audits within AML and Economic Sanctions, UCITS, EMIR and other regulatory requirements.

The Lead Auditor will conduct and document audits as part of the Anti-Money Laundering and Regulatory Compliance audit team. You will lead audit project teams, and provide oversight to the audit team and communicate results to senior management. You will also provide technical expertise and training to auditors and work closely with Audit Project Managers and Audit Managers to confirm the scope of the audit and to devise an appropriate testing approach to be performed during the engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Executing audits, leading audits and providing consulting or oversight functions based on the needs of the team.
* Review information, and perform assessments on the adequacy of controls.
* Leads audit teams in executing audit projects.
* Develop budget and timeframe for audit completion.
* Liaise with Specialist Audit Teams to ensure evaluations of related areas occur timely
* Ensures all assessments are performed appropriately and address regulatory requirements.
* Act as the subject matter expert in regulatory compliance topics in liaising with other audit teams and their audit coverage

Required Skills & Experience:

* Knowledge of audit procedures and standards.
* Experience with the application of audit procedures and standards across a variety of risk business areas within the financial services industry.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance topics such as Anti-Money Laundering, UCITS, Privacy, etc. and auditing techniques is preferred
* Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures in relation to auditing standards
