Internal Auditor

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join a large Edinburgh based public sector client. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the purpose of the role is to plan and execute audit work in an effective and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

. Interviewing staff at all levels to obtain knowledge of the systems/procedures under review
. Documenting current systems and procedures in an appropriate manner
. Preparing overall scope of assigned audit engagements
. Updating and maintaining audit recommendations database
. Drafting and discussing with managers internal audit reports based on the recommendations arising from audit work
. Completing the department's annual assurance programme

Experience required:

. A professional qualification as an Internal Auditor (CMIIA) or a qualified CCAB accountant with relevant audit experience (or similar)
. Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite, in particular, Word and Excel
. A practical knowledge of audit interrogation software
. A strong analytical background
. Excellent communication skills
. A strong internal customer focus

The role is being offered on an initial 8 month contract basis and will be paying up to approximately £130/day.
