Interim VAT Specialist

My Public Sector client is seeking an Interim VAT specialist to provide support to the organisation's Finance and Procurement teams to review supplier contracts to determine if VAT is recoverable or non-recoverable.

The role will involve:

- Reviewing supplier contracts to determine the nature of the contract with the organisation and identify the goods/services used
- Determine whether VAT is recoverable under the HMRC contracted Out Services
- Ensure you work closely with the Shared Service provider to determine a correct process to adopt for VAT through their new platform

To be considered for this opportunity you must:

- Have strong knowledge of Government Departmental VAT principles
- Have evidence of working to advise on VAT within the Public Sector, preferably Central Government
- Have strong knowledge of public procurement regulations
- Excellent communication skills, with evidence of communicating to both internal and external stakeholders
