Interim Transformation Portfolio Risk Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Initially focus on embedding new methodology and further developing portfolio wide risk management.
- Support the change community in the successful management of risk within projects and
- Working with the strategic portfolio team and theme leads carry out portfolio wide risk identification and assessment and formulate mitigation plans.
- Manage the portfolio risk register on a day to day basis and ensure agreed risk reduction measures are implemented.
- Assist with the identification of portfolio wide issues and manage the resulting rectification plans.
- Manage, with Finance, the portfolio wide mitigation budget.
- Assist projects and programmes with 'lessons learnt' workshops and promote a culture of risk conscious thinking at all stages of the change life cycle.
- Actively drive up quality standards of risk management within projects and programmes.
- Provide a continuous information feed to the Head of Risk and Assurance to ensure they have a thorough understanding of the portfolio risk profile.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

- Previous experience and a proven track-record of successful risk management in a complex enterprise wide transformation.
- An in depth understanding of risk management developed on large projects or programmes with an ability to adapt approach in line with business needs.
- Effective, confident communicator with experience of briefing and challenging senior management.
- An Understanding of cost estimating, benefits tracking, project planning techniques, etc.
- High level of energy and creativity required to embed effective risk management through all stages of the change life cycle.
- An ability to flex and adapt approach to suit the audience and able to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels.
